Televised

Claudio and I like to watch TV. It's a simple way to get our mind of the stresses of school..fascinating, right? Here's some of our favorite shows and why we like them.

The show we watch most is called Pobre Rico. This is a Chilean Soap Opera about an upper class and a lower class boy who were switched at birth. The episodes are about 25 minutes long and come out EVERY DAY. I suppose that is what I mean by a soap opera! I love it because it really helps me with my Spanish in making sure that I understand words and can stay immersed even if I am no longer living there. I think Claudio really enjoys it because he's so far away from home and everything that he is used to, I'm sure its some form of a coping mechanism. Its a good series and we love watching it together. We are currently on episode 150. (He's watched since the beginning, I jumped in around episode 60).

Classic American hit that we both enjoy. Its a simple sitcom with witty characters, simple enough. They are funny and quotable and just give us a good laugh.

I began watching Raising Hope a while back and Claudio jumped in with me on season two. It's sort of about a family of rather dumb people who's son got a murderer pregnant and when she was executed he inherited his child. It sounds like a horror movie now, but it's hilarious! They characters are quirky, funny, and able to show you how to have fun when you're poor.
New Girl is the best. Yet another sitcom, basically hilarious and entertaining as it can be. We sing the theme song all of the time and always watch this show first. It's our favorite!
We started watching the Walking Dead a few weeks ago with Claudio's house mates and would have a pot luck and watch the hour long show together. It was a great bonding activity, but we realized a tv show about zombies really isn't a wholesome activity, especially when I had to go home in the dark (don't worry, he always walks me!) It doesn't look like we'll be watching it anymore. But, it's really intense.

After a long pause...

Yeah. I haven't written in six months. Oh well, that happens with blogs.

We've started Fall semester in school and are already though midterms. Super fun stuff that I'm sure you're not entirely interested in. Fun filled excitement full of grad schools, BAs, and navigating the rough waters of what exactly the future has in store for us.

Guess what? Claudio and I are getting married in 57 days! We are so very excited. Things are coming together really well. We're been buying and bringing all of our ideas together for what our magical event will be! Don't know the details? Information here for our friends and family.

Today was halloween and it was so very fun. Claudio and I chose to be Wall-E and Eve from the Pixar film Wall-E. The best animated movie about very shallow propaganda and saving the Earth (Yeah, they didn't think we had enough so they came out with Avatar a year later...), but, on the surface it has such a cute romance story of these two little robots!
They fall in love, save the Earth, you know, all that jazz. Well, here is our interpretation of the adorable little bots!

We went trick or treating here in Laie, since that's apparently acceptable for people over the age of ten here and we thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the best Halloweens that I can remember! Everyone seemed to love our take on the costume and people tended to give us extra candy because of that.

Now, sad part of Halloween day. about 2 or 3 months ago, Claudio decided we wanted some furry little friends so we invested in these little guinea pigs.

We named them Toaster (big) and Squirt (small). They were so so cute. we fed them, let them run around, cleaned their poop, all that fun stuff, y'know? Toaster, the large striped one, is huge. He's basically a small cat. He's slow and lazy eats a lot. He likes lettuce and other vegetables but loves hay. When you let him out of the cage.. he just sits there. Squirt on the other hand, was a rambunctious little fellow. If you let him out of the cage he is gone in seconds. Claudio calls him a hot wheels car because if you hold him right above ground, he would run in the air and then as soon as you let go he was off, just like the matchbox cars. Squirt loved grapes and would just steal them away from Toaster all of the time. They both like to have a small cardboard house and to cuddle in blankets or towels.

Well, sad news is, today, I came to Claudio's house to finish our costumes and Squirt was laying in there... dead. We have no idea what happened but apparently I don't like dead animals.. I wanted that corpse out of their as quickly as possible! Something strange happens when a body looses its' spirit, even in animals.

Now, off of such a depressing note... Diego, Claudio's older brother was married today! We wished we could have been there for him, but 40 hours of plane flights in the middle of the semester wasn't feasable. We wish you the best, Diego and Ivy!

CONGRATULATIONS!

We will be writing more soon.
